Actually, there is a lot of cool civil war trivia like that.
For example: After Booth shot Lincoln, he jumped down to the stage and broke his ankle. (Lincoln was in a private balcony.) On the way out of town Booth stopped at a doctor’s house to get his ankle splinted and bandaged. The doctor (not knowing what had transpired just hours before) fixed him up and sent him on his way. This doctor’s name was Samuel Mudd. Several days later he was arrested by federal agents and he just narrowly missed getting convicted of the death penalty (treason).
That’s where the phrase “your name is mud(d)” comes from.
