This just came to my attention, but apparently the Cookie Monster on Seaseme Street no longer eats cookies, he only eats VEGETABLES. wtf?!
Political correctness is robbing our C-Man of his cookies! Ah, where is the world going?

Umm… I watch Sesame Street with my kid just about everyday, and I can assure you that the C-Man still eats cookies. Actually, he still eats everything (cookies, the letter of the day, fruit, veggies, furniture, you name it) with his favorite being cookies.
Silly sheeple… Don’t believe everything that you hear or read. You can always check out Snopes, if you aren’t sure.

Why change COOKIE monster? if COOKIE monster cant eat COOKIES then why would kids want to watch the show? cookie monster is basically a traditional character. Kids wont change their eating habits just because a character eats healthier. and why would a puppet need to be healthy? It is so dumb…you cant change cookie monster and expect kids to do the same.

Even so, kids are easily encouraged. To have the cookie monster eat vegetables is simply a matter of promoting good habits in kids. It seems strange that we would lose our mind on the cookie monster having to eat food that is good for you. It is it so outlandish that due to a large percentage of children being obese, that these kids might benefit from having good habits being pushed on them, rather than stuffing their body with as many cookies as possible?
To say “give kids more credit” is one thing. But I know as a kid, I loved emulating the cookie monster by chowing down on the cookies. Just as I ate carrots because Bugs Bunny did. This is a positive step, guys. I would think, anyway.

RELAX! Cookie Monster was interviewed on Wisconsin Public Radio a couple days ago. He’s still the Cookie Monster. He was adamant about cookies being his favorite, and he talked about them obsessively. When asked what else he eats, he said (more or less),
CM: Me eat anything. Me eat cookie, yah yah yah. Me eat fruit. Me eat table. Me eat canoe.
INTERVIEWER: I’m sorry–canoe?

i grew up with cookie monster and i never ate all the cookies in my house. the government is just getting lame. and they have nothing better to do other than change the 50 yr old character that every one knows. why dont we change like big bird.. no one likes him.. or we can change like some disney shows that are recently new. cause people havent adapted to the show yet. everyone loves cookie monster.. oh wait my bad.. i meant veggie monster.. i mean like kids wont eat veggies cause a monster tells them too. they will do as they please. i still dont eat veggies. and im 16.. so im saying cookie monster hasnt effected my life.. i am in shape and i didnt go crazy on the cookies like he did
